Hello Everyone,
I am sending this email out to clarify the eligibility process for the CODC PRO Care plan. In the past few months there have been a number of people told to call Family Service Regina for EAP services (counseling) who have not been eligible for the program (some have not worked in a year or two). To be eligible, your member must have worked at least 1 hour for a CODC eligible employer in the past 6 months – an individual will remain eligible for 5 months from the last month that they worked. For example, if your member’s last day of employment was August 8, 2019, they would remain on the eligibility list until January 31, 2020 – on February 1, 2020 if they had not worked another hour for a CODC eligible employer, they would fall off the eligibility list and no longer be eligible for EAP services through CODC PRO Care. Please see attached Eligibility Quick Sheet for your future reference.
CODC PRO Care Eligibility Quick Sheet
There appears to be some misconception by the members that as long as they are paying their union dues they are eligible for the PRO Care plan. This has unfortunately been causing our service provider with many issues in getting the members to understand that this is not the criteria for being eligible for the PRO Care EAP services. They need to have worked at least 1 hour for an eligible employer within the past 6 months.
Before referring one of your members to the CODC PRO Care Plan for EAP services, please ensure that that member has actively worked for a CODC eligible employer in the past 6 months. This will alleviate a lot of frustration for both the service provider and your members.
It would be greatly appreciated if you would circulate this email to any individuals in your organization who may refer your members to the CODC PRO Care plan.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you,
Holly Goldstone
