IUPAT DC 17’s Plural Pump Level 1
With financial assistance from Employment and Social Development Canada, IUPAT District Council 17 purchased two (2) new Plural Pump Trailers – a Graco XP70 (shown in photo) & Graco Integrated Reactor EXP2i. This is year two of this project, and this course has been updated.
Partner Instructors (one or more attends, depending on availability):
Christian Bradley, Bolair Fluid Handling Systems / Service Supervisor / Technical Sales
Sean Radich, Howard Marten Fluid Technologies, Service Supervisor
Jeff Cameron, Sherwin Williams, Protective and Marine Coatings Technical Sales Rep
Members that complete this training will demonstrate the theoretical introductory knowledge and introductory hands-on skills for safe work habits and process control procedures of Plural Spray Equipment including plural costing products, start-up, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, deployment, and spray application. The Level 1 (Introductory) course is three days. It consists of ~half classroom, ~half hands-on.
Students must complete daily homework (it is graded), final exam, and practical on both pumps.
Level 1 does not make you a ‘pump guy’; two (2) more levels (Levels 2 & 3) are under development for each pump. The Level 2 & 3 student to teacher ratio will be lower.
This course will expand the pool of qualified members for signatory contractors to draw upon to competently operate this plural gear and apply these products to specification requirements of their customers’ facilities.
