IUPAT DC 17 presented SSPC C1 Fundamentals of Protective Coatings @ Edmonton Office November 6 – 10, 2017 & @ Saskatoon Office November 13-17, 2017.
SSPC C1 is a 40 hour course that provides the basics of the industrial and marine coatings for both DC 17 Members and our Signatory Contractor Staff. C1 is great prep and highly recommended for the written portion of SSPC Coating Applicator Specialist Exam. More generally, DC 17 advocates that ALL industrial painter members take C1 at some point.
DC17’s Director of Training, Chris Hooter, instructed the course. Chris is the only SSPC C1 instructor in Canada. He is also the only SSPC C2, SSPC C3, SSPC C5, and SSPC Lead Worker instructor in Canada.
With most members working now – this time of year, that’s a good thing! – interest was high but attendance was low.

DC 17 Members will get another chance to take SSPC C1 in Edmonton December 18 – 22, 2017 or in Saskatoon January 3-7, 2018
Note: SSPC CAS Edmonton is week January 22, 2018 – if wish to challenge this CAS exam, you should take this C1. Similarly, SSPC CAS Saskatoon is week February 5, 2018
