Great turnout for SSPC C2 Planning & Specifying Industrial Coatings Projects in Ft McMurray! Ten (10) members & signatory contractor management attended. Course was held December 13 – 17, 2017 at IUPAT DC 17’s new space which DC 17 rents from the Operating Engineers Local 955.

SSPC C2 is an advanced course for Construction Managers, Industrial Coating Supervisors, &/or those who aspire to such. SSPC C2 assumes a working knowledge of coatings via SSPC C1 Fundamentals, NACE CIP series, SSPC PCI series, etc., as prerequisite for the course. C2 does a deep dive into project specification formats, partnering paradigms, pricing and payment structures, engineering and technical standards, bonding, estimating, insurance, labour costs, life cycle costs, present and future value, failure & laboratory analytical technics, QA/QC programs, PCCP programs, etc. If you are an industrial painter aiming to move up into supervision, you need C2 !

This C2 class included a great group of students from a good mix of Ft McMurray signatory employers. Great discussions! DC 17 thanks all those who attended. Together, we are continuing to ‘raise the bar’ @ DC 17!

Special thanks to Lee Lakely, Dan Port, & Wayne Matthews at the Operating Engineer’s Local 955 for all their support and help in making their training room, etc., available. Great hosts!
